East Cambridgeshire District Council - Single Issue Review

The Cambridgeshire Development Forum has today called on East Cambs District to plan its housing requirement in the current Review through to 2041, rather than confining it to 2031.

In their response to the initial consultation from the East Cambs Council, the CDF has called for the Review of housing numbers to extend to 2041. They argue that this would mean that the Local Plan could take account of major infrastructure changes like the dualling of the A10, and it would also enable infrastructure providers for energy and water to plan ahead to meet the housing growth forecast.

The CDF warn that to limit the review to 2031 would mean that if it is completed in late 2023, it would only provide for 8 years of future growth planning, whereas the National Planning Policy Framework ( in Para 22) requires authorities to plan at least 15 years ahead.
