CDF November Meeting
On Friday 20th November the latest CDF Meeting was held, during which Members discussed several topics.
Members discussed the Forum’s next actions following our response to the Government’s recent Planning White Paper, and in particular how the community could work to ensure that future plans are more forward looking, ambitious and imaginative.
Next on the agenda, Forum member Emma Fletcher, outlined the initiative of Community Land Trusts (CLTs). CLTs are set up and run by ordinary people to develop and manage homes as well as other assets important to that community. They act as long-term stewards of housing, ensuring that it remains genuinely affordable, based on what people earn in their area, not just for now but for every future occupier. More information can be found here.
We were then joined by members of the Cambridge Autonomous Metro (CAM) team, including Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mayor James Palmer. Discussed were the benefits and need for this proposed transport route, and then members were given the opportunity to pose their questions to the team about the plans. More information about the proposals can be found here
Finally, Forum chair Andrew Lansley presented Level(s), the European framework for sustainable buildings, outlining how this framework aims to provide a common language for sustainability performance of buildings. More information can be found here.
