Water Resources East joins CDF December Meeting
At our final meeting of 2021, the CDF were joined by representatives from Water Resources East and discussed the outlined the current issues impacting the Cambridgeshire region’s water supply.
CDF meeting with the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning
Our November meeting focused on discussing the latest updates in the development of the Greater Cambridge Local Plan first proposals.
CDF Summer Reception
On the 13th of September 2021, our CDF members gathered on a roof terrace overlooking the Cambridge city skyline. Discussions ranged from future development opportunities in the region, to forming new connections and expanding the CDF’s reach, to building new and existing partnerships and incentivizing new avenues for cooperation.

CDF Webinar: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough 2021 Mayoral Election: The Development Debate
On 7th April 2021, the Cambridgeshire Development Forum in association with Skyline Comms organised a CDF Webinar to give an opportunity for each of the candidates of the Mayoral Election to present and discuss their campaign proposals on key development issues in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area
CDF March meeting
At the latest CDF meeting on Friday, the Forum was joined by Simon Blanchflower CBE, CEO of East West Rail Co. and representatives of the OxCam Arc Unit from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG).
CDF meets Shadow Minister for Housing, Communities and Local Government
On Friday 5th March, 2021, the CDF was joined by Mike Amesbury, Shadow Minister for Housing, Communities and Local Government. Discussions focused on Labour’s initial response to the 2020 White Paper, and the aspects on which the Opposition were in agreement with the Government, and where they were challenging proposals.
CDF Webinar: CDF and Mills & Reeve members & guests met to discuss ‘Central Cambridge: Prospects for Recovery’
On 11th February 2021, the Cambridgeshire Development Forum, in association with Mills & Reeve, held a CDF Webinar to discuss the future development of central Cambridge, particularly in a post-COVID-19 context.
CDF January Meeting
On Friday 15th January 2021, the Cambridgeshire Development Forum met for their first discussion of the year. The Forum was joined by Dan Thorp, the Director of Policy and Programmes at Cambridge Ahead.
CDF November Meeting
On Friday 20th November the latest CDF Meeting was held, during which Members discussed several topics: Forum’s next actions, the initiative of Community Land Trusts, Level(s) and we were then joined by members of the Cambridge Autonomous Metro (CAM) team, including Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mayor James Palmer.
CDF Members & guests met for the Planning for the Future: the Cambridgeshire Debate
The debate opened with each of the panel members offering their views on the proposals made in the Government’s recent White Pape.

The CDF Planning Sub-group met today to discuss key elements from the Government’s recent White Paper and how the Forum should like to respond to it.

Message from CDF in time of COVID-19
CDF cares about its members during this traumatic time. We are working from home, applying the Government guidance religiously and seeking to maintain both the momentum of our planned activity, whilst meeting the needs during the crisis.
Design Forum Design for Living
CDF hosted its first Design Workshop on Friday, 17 May 2019 at the Downing College, Cambridge. The event gathered dozens of place-making experts from all over Cambridgeshire to discuss forward-looking, innovative and sustainable settlements.
East West Rail
New section will link Bedford and Cambridge with a new line and new stations for the communities in between.

Independent Review of Build Out Final Report, October 2018
CDF is invited to comment on the Independent Review of Build Out Final Report, especially the central contention covering market absorption rates. The Forum is also asked to respond to the question of local authority intervention to this extent.
